Why See Macbeth?

Something Wicked This Way Comes...

Experience the visceral action, twisted dark magic and blood-spilling politics of Shakespeare's MacBeth at Great Lakes Theater this Spring! Unique to this exciting new production, the venue will be transformed into an in-the-round Elizabethan theater, giving audience members the chance to immerse themselves in the poetic fracas with onstage seating.

A classic tragedy of The Bard's considerable body of work, MacBeth has more bloody twists and turns than all the seasons of House of Cards combined. The political thriller follows the machinations of Scottish general Macbeth and his wife, Lady Macbeth. A prime puppeteer, the Lady pulls his strings so that he murders King Duncan to take his place. But with his hands stained red, the killing intensifies and madness haunts his every step.
