An symphony of ultimate triumph

Cleveland Orchestra play Beethoven's masterful 7th
Cleveland Orchestra perform a spectacular recital of Beethoven's Seventh, conducted by Herbert Blomstedt. Whilst it's a work which may be sandwiched between his Fifth, Sixth and Ninth, it is by no means in their considerable shadows. A dynamic balance between orchestral grandeur and Beethoven's penchant for simple melody-driven arrangement, the masterful symphony gains momentum for a fiery finale in which its musicians play as if their very lives depend on it.
Also performed is Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 18, "Paradis; a work speculated to have been written for the blind Austrian musician Maria Theresa von Paradis.
