Cleveland Orchestra dazzle with Mozart and Strauss
Cleveland Orchestra present an evening of dazzling music from Mozart and Strauss. Mozart's Divertimento was composed when the prodigious maestro was only sixteen years old and is a stunning show of his rapidly developing genius. Strauss' supreme Ein Heldenleben takes joint center stage, a gripping tone poem painting an aural picture of the journey of a hero.
Sandwiching the pieces is Schoenberg's Variations for Orchestra, a visionary piece setting the scene for what was to come in 20th Century classical music. The conductor is Franz Welser-Most, Cleveland's resident Music Director.
