A new production of Austen's winning romance

Why See Pride and Prejudice?

Austen's Most Beloved Work

The classic love story comes to the stage in a new production from Great Lakes Theater. Perhaps Austen's most enduring work, Pride and Prejudice is a winning romance that also satirises the Regency period's manners and moneyed classes along the the way. At the center of the novel is the quick-witted Elizabeth Bennet, who must find her way in life while also choosing between a series a suitors, including the pompous Mr. Collins and the dashing, but altogether too aloof Mr. Darcy. We wonder who she'll choose...

Originally published in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has been adapted numerous times for the screen, including a 2005 movie starring Keira Knightley. Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan are the writers behind this stage version.
